Roy tried to control his breathing so it was deeper and more even, but it was painful. He stared up at the sky as Alan/Alanna spoke, coughing occasionally. "That doesn't really explain what you love about her," Roy said painfully,"Like I love my Ling because she's kind of shy and clumsy, and cute. She's nice, too, I don't think she'd have much interest shooting someone......" He gave a kind of hacking cough, then continued,"I love a lot of things about her....." He turned his head to look at her,"If you don't think you deserve to rule it, why are you trying?" He asked. The ground beneath him was slowly turning red, which wasn't exactly surprising.

Alan sighed slightly looking at her blood covered hands, and shook her head as she continued to operate, listening to the reasons why he loved Ling. She let out a sigh as she injected stim packs to heal the wounds. She then turned to Roy and quickly fixed his even simpler wounds "You are right Roy, you do deserve her more than I do. And I shall reunite with her, in the afterlife." she let out another sigh, it was clear that she was a clear atheist, not that being an immortal scientist didn't already spell that out. She then walked over to the cryo pod, gently opening it and working of fixing Ava then saying "Dear god, just a girl." she turned to a robot and sighed slightly as she said "Fetch the memory erasing device."

He looked surprised when she said that she would reunite Ling with him. After all this? He had freaking gotten shot to get her back and now Alan was just like giving up on her. Not to mention that he got shot to get her back and Alan was acting like she had no prior intentions of returning her to him. "Perhaps it will feel good to let go. I mean, such a long time of holding on to someone, letting go is probably a good idea," He said, stifling another cough. He tensed up as she worked on him, and tried to sit still, though it was probably quite painful. Despite his attempts to remain quiet, a few whimpers escaped him. Once she was done, he watched her work on Ava, then pushed himself up into sitting position. He didn't really have anything else to day.

Alan sighed slightly as Roy said that it would be good to let go "No, I am destroying myself, and this whole area with me. The world doesn't need more relics of the old world. You have to go ahead and march into the future." she then sighed as she went to work on Ava, a cut here, a stitch here, the finest doctor of all time working in her chosen environment. She whimpered slightly "She shot two children, in case you were wondering what changed my mind. She is worse then she ever was in life that I knew. She was Hui Guri, she would shoot a kid if ordered, but she wouldn't take glee in it." she flipped a needle and stabbed it into the heart of Ava, pushing some adrenaline into her heart.

He looked surprised when she said that she was destroying herself, but didn't protest or anything, because he thought it was probably a good idea. No one should live for as long as she did, even if she wasn't a monster. That was how he saw it. "I wonder why she's worse now," He said, pushing himself painfully to his feet. "Will Ava be OK?" He asked, wiping blood off his mouth. He walked slowly over to them, making sure to stay out of the way. "I wonder how many other little kids there are like her, who don't know how to be anything but a slave," He said absently.

Alan sighed slightly when Roy wondered why "Clearly cloning is imperfect." she smiled a little when he asked if Ava would be ok "In the hands of any doctor in this world, no, she would die. However I am from the world before, and though this is very changing, I can save her." she worked along, putting a bag of blood on the side, so it could fill Ava's veins as she worked. Internal organs were damaged, as were several major arteries, but Alan looked rather pleased as she worked, seeming to lose the grim aura she had when just sitting around. She frowned a little however at Roy's question "Even one is too many. Likely many though, this world is cruel, that is why I wanted to end it, but you have made me realise it isn't my place." she then frowned slightly "Ling was taken as a baby. In a way she was no different then Ava, she knew nothing but service to the Chinese military. I guess my world was as bad as yours."

"Clearly," Roy said, sighing tiredly. It had been a long week or however long it had been since they left the vault city. "It's still the same world, just changed," He said, watching her work. He wondered how long it would take. "I agree," He replied when she said that even one was to many. I believe that we can change the world, Alan, if we try hard enough, just not your way. Your way was wrong. If we want to make the world good, we have to be the change we wish to see," He said, sounding like he truly believed that people, maybe not specifically them, but people who cared enough to do the right thing in the right way could change things. "In some ways, maybe. I have no arguments that the world sucks, my arguments were against your methods."

Alan nodded as she worked, switching back and forth between her hands with the tools, showing she was just as good with both hands in surgery. She sighed slightly before looking at Roy "Roy, I understand wanting to do good, I really do. And I could, I have medical equipment, food synthesis machines, and several GECKs I can use to make the water pure once more. I also have the military means to defend from bandits, raiders, Hell even the NCR and Vault Empire. I am just so tired. 200 years is so long, most of it without sleep thanks to the machines which keep my practically ancient brain working, I am just so tired of trying to help, only to end with earthqueaks, or even atomic war." she sighed slightly but then nodded a little "But, if you must ask this of me, you can. I will set up posts for those unable to supply themselves." she sighed slightly and turned her attention back to Ava, looking at her stomach wound more carefully and muttering to herself in a mix of Chinese and German, and even a few snipits of French and English mixed in, the result of too many languages in one human brain.

Roy listened to what Alan said, then frowned ever so slightly. "I understand you being tired," He said,"And if you wish to destroy yourself or whatever, I won't force you to keep living. If you allow me to have the GECKs, the food synthesis machine and the medical supplies, I can try to find a way to use them to help change things. That would be enough." He said it gently, and kind of in a sad way, like he felt bad for her. Obviously she could change fast, and obviously Roy wasn't one to hold grudges, or even have an opinion of someone based on how they had acted just like, a few minutes ago. He had no idea what she said when she muttered in multiple languages, but he wondered what the muttering was about. "Is everything OK?" He asked, sounding concerned.

Alan nodded slightly, frowning a little as she said "Verbal Command for Central Computing: Load all Garden of Eden Creation Kits, Medical supplies, and Replication machines onto Airship 4, have it power up atomic reactors and be ready for launch." then addressed Roy "They will be ready for transport, no matter what happens." she sighed a little after a moment saying "I should do something good for the world, it will never make up for the war I caused, but perhaps, my knowledge, my technology, my resources, maybe they could help those who are left over." she smiled a little when he asked if everything was ok "I just haven't seen a medical case this complicated for centuries. It is very exhilarating. She will survive, I promise you that, it is just nice to have a challenge for once as odd as that sounds."

Roy listened to what Alan said, smiling faintly. It was kind of sad smile. He was happy that she said doing this, but sad because they needed it, and because she was giving up. "Thank you," He said, bowing his head slightly to her. "By giving this stuff to me, you are doing some good,"He said, frowning slightly. She certainly changed fast. "I like challenges, too, at least sometimes, so it's not weird." He said, leaning against the wall and yawning. He swore that nearly every day was full of tons of crap, and it was making him tired.

Alan sighed slightly, looking over Ava's body, rubbing her hands through her hair for a moment before continuing to work "I'm glad you don't think it was that weird. Actually to tell you the truth the last time I was doing this, I was male, and working on a young Chinese girl hurt in American bombings. Not all too different from Ava." she then sighed slightly, closing Ava's body up with precise stitches "I have done all I can. It would be best to just let her rest." she then walked over next to Roy and slumped next to him "I am so tired of a long life, I haven't felt like I have lived in over 150 years. Helping Ava just now though, that was, that was nice. That has made me feel more alive then the last ten years combine. Perhaps helping wastelanders would feel the same, what do you think?"

"Now, having helped someone last when you were male is weird," Roy said jokingly."Besides, I like weird. Weird is good." He closed his eyes tiredly as she continued to work, just letting her work in silence. "Alright," He said when she said it would be best to just let her rest. He opened his eyes when she slumped next to him. "There's no feeling better then knowing you've helped someone and made them happy, made them have a better life," He said, looking at her, "Trust me. When you help someone who is suffering and see them smile at you because of it, you can't beat that."
