{Flashback, September 19th, 2012} It was a nice sunny day. Not to warm, and not too hot. Around 60 degree's. A great, non-wet day in Washington. Since it was so nice, her and her parents were going out on a walk around the hilly city of Seattle, which is where they lived. She was home schooled, so her parents could pretty much take her out whenever they wanted. And her parents worked from home, so they could pretty much choose when they wanted to work, as long as they got in 8 hours of work. They liked that option, and Lily liked the option for her parents to take her out whenever, and just say "Finish your assignment later". She got good grades too, so that helped with them just allowing her to go out with them when they wanted to go somewhere with her.
Just as they were approaching the park they usually went to, suddenly a giant dark shadow covered a large portion of Seattle. She looked up in confusion at the direction of the sun, and noticed what looked like a rather large space ship. An inhumanly large space ship, one that no human was able to create yet. People around them started to look terrified, and there were screams heard from various directions. Some nutter shouted "It has come early! The end! We will be saved by God!", and just stood there as if he'd be saved BY the space ship, or be saved before the space ship killed him. Most people screamed and ran, unless they were guys. Though one guy did seem to do a rather girly scream. The guys didn't really scream, and more looked frightened while running away.
Her parents on the other hand remained mostly calm, though they sure as hell looked scared. "Come on Lily, let's get inside and safe. Who knows what's going on" Her father said gently, taking her by the arm and pulling her along to some random nearby Book Store. Her mother nodded to what her father said, and ran towards the store. Lily of course followed, so she wasn't entirely being dragged. She was curious what it was, but also would rather feel safe then find out what it was in a not-so-good way.
They eventually got inside and hopefully safe. In the room, they pretty much went to a corner and stayed huddled together in that corner while waiting for whatever was outside to leave, if it left. Lily swore she heard an explosion of sorts, and jumped. But she had no idea what would be exploding and why. It sort of made her more afraid of whatever was out there, because if the explosion was caused by it, clearly their intentions weren't good. She heard other various noises outside too, and kept close to her parents in fear that she would be separated from them. They held her close, in fear of losing her and being separated from her. So they both had pretty much the same general thoughts.
{Present day, September 26th, 2012} It was a dark gloomy 'night'. No moon at all shining down on the Earth. Just darkness, except the obvious street lights and building lights. Still, wandering the streets at this time of night made you shiver, and fear about every building and corner you passed. Fearing that something might jump out at you and tear you to shreds. There were always creepy noises coming from buildings or the streets, it either coming from the undead or something nobody has ever seen before. The streets were completely unsafe, and not even most of the buildings were safe. But they were safer then the streets....most of the time. Sometimes they were worse.
Lily at the moment was inside one of these buildings. A Starbucks to be exact. Even though she was forced to be alone now, after getting separated from her parents, she was still not brave. Nobody was probably brave in a world full of the undead and a ton of things nobody has ever seen, except maybe in video games. She was frightened, and wished that at least she could get help out here some how. The people she had run across and bothered to ask if they could help were jerks, saying things like "You will slow us down" or things like "I'm more important then you", and then ran off for the 'safety' of the country. Most of the time she didn't ask anyone for help, because she didn't feel like troubling people and just kept to herself. But at this point it was starting to be too much for her, and she really felt like she needed help from SOMEONE, whoever it might be.
She leaned against the far corner of the room and slid down the wall and to the floor. She had just had a near-death experience, one of many that she has had throughout the last 5 days of being alone, and in the 7 days in general. The stress of all of these encounters, and just being stuck out here alone as starting to drain on her physically. She hadn't gotten a good 'nights' sleep in 7 days, and her sleep got even worse the last 5 days. So a mixture of almost dieing multiple times, a lack of sleep, her parents going missing, and just everything going on was beginning to weigh down on her. Nobody of any age should have to go through this, yet alone a 13-year old girl. Sadly, people much younger were going through the same thing as her all over the world right now.
As she sat down, she began to cry. She hated it when she lost it and cried. She tried to stay strong and not lose it emotionally, almost always in her life. But here she was, losing it into tears. The pressure and stress was just too much, and she lost it, no matter how hard she tried not to. She was scared, and that was just making things worse. She just felt so helpless and alone, and all of it was just weighing down on her, no matter how much she hated it. So here she was, in the corner of a Starbucks Coffee Shop, crying her eyes out in the dark, along with monsters roaming outside. It was definitely an unusual atmosphere to be breaking down in. Not your typical every day place to break down emotionally. To her, this was probably her worst emotional break down in her entire life, excluding her younger years (like 5 and below), since her breaking down emotionally was so rare.

Dean wandered the streets carefully, keeping his back to a wall whenever he could. He was calm, but cautious. He at least wasn't panicking like a lot of people probably were. He sighed quietly. Just last week he had been investigating what he thought could have been some paranormal activity in an apartment here in Seattle. As always, it had been nothing other then a normal crime. He had wondered if he'd ever actually find anything paranormal, but that very day, all his dreams, or nightmares, about paranormal activity became all to real. He remembered the ships in the sky, then the zombies and other stuff. At the time he had been to freaked out to remember any of his 'training', any of what he had learned about this kind of crap. He ran inside an apartment room and hid. After calming down a bit, he managed to gather his thoughts enough to remember some of what he had learned. He has put salt in all the doors and windows, and started gathering everything he could thing of for fighting stuff like this. He just hoped that it would actually work.
And now here he was. He had discovered that at least some of what he knew worked. He was relieved by that, and hoped to be able to help others with what he knew, but at the same time, he wished that he had never had to actually discover that this stuff worked, because he would have preferred to live his life chasing non-existent ghosts then actually having something like this happen. A few ghosts and such here and there, that's not to bad, but a whole world full of monsters and ghosts and whatever other horror-movie-creatures you could thing of.
He slid along a wall of a Starbucks, which he was pretty sure he had passed one not long ago, when he heard crying from inside. He froze. It sounded like a little girl. He ran through a mental list of supernatural stuff that might lure him with something like that. He could think of at least two things. A spirit of some sort, or maybe a Wendigo. He had never seen a Wendigo before, but that didn't mean they didn't exist. With all this other stuff, and maybe some people starving place...
He took a deep breath and raised his shotgun. He knew that if it was a Wendigo, a shotgun, or any gun, would likely be useless. Let alone a shotgun armed with rock salt. But if it was a spirit, it may be the only quick defense he had. He carefully walked over to the door, peering inside. He carefully pushed the door open. His eyes were well adjusted to the dark. He headed slowly towards the crying, still surprisingly calm, but on his guard. Then he saw a girl in the corner, crying. He lowered his shotgun, and stepped closer to her.
"Hey, kid," He said, gently so as to lower the change of scaring the crap out of her. He doubted that would work, but it was worth a try.

Alan looked around in a haze of green night vision, then suddenly wished he would have just not looked. There was a dead little girl in the corner of the roof he was on, he looked at her for a second, then realised with shock and horror that she had been stabbed to death by someone else. He barley managed not to throw up as he drew his revolver and walked over to the girl and said a short prayer for her, he didn't believe in god, but at this point he figured that it couldn't hurt. He then looked around and found what was left of a coat and put it over her face, more for his benefit then anything. He then returned to the corner he had been sitting in before he put on his goggles, sighing and fighting not to cry. He pressed the barrel of his gun to his temple and considered ending it, once and for all.
He sat with the gun to his head for a few minutes before he lifted the goggles and looked at the picture of him and his girlfriend, he had no idea what had happened to her, but it gave enough reason to the 'live just one more day' argument in his head. He stood up and put the night vision back over his eyes, allowing him to see better then most in the dark. He glanced at the streets bellow, and laid on his stomach looking down the street when the fact he hadn't had more than an hours sleep in the last two days hit him and he just passed out.
He had been more than traumatised in his brief time in this carnival of horror, not by the things themselves, but by how humanity broke down when their lives were at stake. The stabbed little girl was only a brief example of what he had seen, seeing many people turn on each other for ammo or transport. He even saw a man beat his step daughter to death for her car, he just ran away from these mad people too scared that he too would die. He was just remeb-
He snapped awake and pointed his pistol around, he head crying, like a child's cry. He turned toward where the stabbed little girl was and picked up a metal pipe, then when freak on her head with it while quietly saying "Forgive me, forgive me, forgive me..." over and over again. After all that remained of the head was a bloody pulp he listened again and still heard the child, he sighed with relief and quietly said to the body "You... You would understand." then jumped off the roof and landed with a grunt, hurting more than he expected, and looked around. He quietly moved to a starbucks and peered inside, then gently opened the door while pointing his gun at the man and said "No sudden movements." very quietly. He then saw the girl and though keeping his gun on the man walked over to her and squatted down next to her and asked "Did you get separated?" kindly but in a kind of exhausted way, like he had been up for a few days, which he had.

Lily was probably harder to see then usual too, because she was looking down at the ground with her black hoodie on. The hoodie probably was enough to hide her face in the dark, especially when she was looking at the ground. And the fact she was in a dark room with a black Hoodie probably didn't help. There was a slight amount of light shining in from an outside street light into the Starbucks though, which might of been just enough to pick out her location easier.
When someone seemed to literally show up in the Starbucks out of nowhere, she let out a gasp and clutched the crowbar laying across her lap tighter, then pushed herself into a crouching position, and tighter against the wall. "Stay away from me!" She shouted at him through sobs. It seemed more like she was just panicking and being overly afraid, because she had just gone through a scary ordeal. And that she has been mostly alone for days, so she didn't know who to trust.
She didn't even notice the other guy, not until he squatted down next to her. As soon as he did, she started to back away from him too, again more out of panic then anything. "Please, don't hurt me! Please!" She shouted through sobs, and she started to back up so fast she just fell flat onto her back, because her arms gave out on her, which were supporting most of her weight at the time. The reason they gave out was likely due to the lack of strength she had in her body right now. After everything that has gone on, it was beginning to make her weaker. She never was someone to be physically out of shape, but none of her exercise prepared her for all the physical stress she would be going through the last few days.
Once she collapsed flat onto her back, she just laid there, feeling helpless if their intentions were bad at this point. She felt like the strength was drained out of her, and she couldn't fight anymore. She felt like she needed a long rest, for hours and hours. But that was practically impossible these days, because she could not get a solid nights sleep right now. The emotional pain would always come back to her, and the nightmares of what she had seen during the last week. Things she never imagined seeing in person. People being torn apart, killing each other, and so on. But not once during the week had she had this big of an emotional break down, if ever having this big of an emotional break down. And she just seemed terrified of every day people these days, which was completely unlike her. Usually she was a fairly social, yet quiet person, not someone who was afraid of everyone she encountered.

Dean blinked when the girl told him to stay away from her. He understood why she would freak out. He figured it was fairly clear that he wasn't a spirit, or a zombie or other monster of some sort, but the people out here could act just as bad. He thought it would probably be quite obvious that he wasn't going to hurt her, since he had lowered his shotgun and spoke to her gently, but he figured that she had been through a lot.
He was about to try to calm her down, to tell her that he wasn't going to hurt her, when he heard footsteps behind him. He spun around with his shotgun raised just as soon as whoever it was said 'no sudden movements'. He cursed to himself and made a mental note to make sure that his handgun could be reached at all times. Sure, Rock Salt would hurt like hell and probably knock you off your feet for a bit, but it wouldn't do any permanent damage, or really enough to protect anyone for more then a few minutes.
He followed the other guy with his shotgun, figuring that the other guy wouldn't know that his rounds were made of salt. He was pointing his gun at this guy for multiple reasons. One, the other guy was pointing a gun at him. Two, he wanted to make sure that the other guy didn't hurt the girl. Three, he figured he couldn't be POSITIVE that the guy wasn't a vampire or something, though he was fairly sure. Four, this guy could be a psycho, though he didn't really act like it.
He glanced at the girl out of the corner of his eye. "Don't worry, I'm not going to hurt you," He said gently as he gaze darted back to the other guy. He hoped that the other guy would say the same, and that it would be the truth.

Alan watched the man with the shotgun, looking fearful if you could tell without seeing his eyes. He only saw a shotgun pointed at him, which was pretty terrifying for him. It looked like his hair used to be straitened, but it now was curtly again, much to his dismay. He looked around and realised he could see some colour, meaning their some some kind of light around, meaning there was power. For now however he just pointed his handgun at the strange man, fearful of what he might do to him or the girl. He thought of the little girl on the roof and shivered at the idea that might of been him that stabbed her. He slowly drew back the hammer at his last thought, basically making the pistol ready to fire.
He watched the girl and frowned saying "No one is going to hurt you, I promise. I wouldn't let anything happen to a little girl like you." he then looked at the other man and said "I know there are sick people in this world, if you lay one finger on this girl, I will not hesitate to blow your brains out." he then walked over to the girl and said "Please, be quiet, they could find us." he then offered his arms in a hugging motion, though still looking kind of intimidating with his goggles. He watched the girl still, he wouldn't be surprised if she tried to hit him with a crowbar given how the world terrified everyone, it would probably have a much worse effect on a little girl.
After he interacted with the others he then walked over to the fridge, bulled out a can and started eating whiped cream, and there were sounds like he was crying under his goggles. He kept pointing his revolver at the man and eating the can of whiped cream.

Both of these boys told her that they wouldn't hurt her, and she hoped that what they said would be true. It's not like you could take every thing someone said as the truth. What her parents had to deal with in the past was proof of that. Before the invasions of strange creatures on Earth, her parents had dealt with multiple liars in their life. The good thing was her parents were good at telling when people were lying, and they had taught her that ability, to an extent. She was definitely not as good as her parents though. But it was hard to detect if people were lying in the dark anyway, so it was pretty much useless for her right now to know if they were lying or not.
"You two better be telling the truth" She said, still sounding like she was crying somewhat. She pushed herself up and onto her feet weakly, then leaned against the wall and slid down it again, looking in the direction of the two people who suddenly arrived. Not that her 'threat' was very threatening, since all she had was a crowbar....which looked slightly bloodied if you payed enough attention. She mostly fell silent, but there was still the quiet sounds of her crying. When he put his arms out in a hugging motion, she just stared at him. Here he was just talking about if that guy layed one finger on her, he'd shoot him, and now he expected her to just accept a hug from him like it was nothing. She hated to be mean, but all she did was give him a quick glance, but made no indication to hug him. She didn't trust him enough yet. The goggles surprisingly didn't intimidate her though.
She pushed herself up onto her feet again, but it seemed like it was an awful hard effort for her to do so. Just everything was making her unusually weak. "Are you going to make yourself an extra hot, no whip, white chocolate macchiato?" She asked jokingly to Alan, trying to lighten the mood some. Or completely confuse him, one of the two. They were in a Starbucks after all. It was a good place to make yourself one of those. But she figured her line was appropriate, since she was quoting a line from a horror game, and they were pretty much in a horror world now.
As she sort of just paced back and forth, she put her left hand on her right arm, and made wincing sounds. She knew she had been hit by the thing that had been chasing her, but she wasn't exactly sure how badly, because the adrenaline rush she had during the attack made the pain not so bad, until she finally stopped. She had to fight it off, which was why her crowbar had fresh blood on it. When she fought it off though was after it had already scratched her. But she didn't act like she was effected by it, or at least pretended she wasn't affected by it to not worry them, and she just kept pacing with her hand on her arm, and her crowbar held in her hand that wasn't over her wound. You couldn't see the wound anyway, because now she had covered it up with the sleeve of her Hoodie.

Dean neither noticed that the other guy was frightened, nor that his hair used to be straight....because he really didn't care about the last one. While the other guy looked around, Dean debated disarming the guy, since he was good at that kind of stuff, but he wasn't close enough, and figured that that wouldn't be a very good way to prove that he had no intention in harming anyone. When the guy drew back the hammer on his gun, Dean twitched, and let go of the shotgun with one hand, carefully, and reached for his backpack. If this guy really wanted to go as far as cocking his gun, he wanted to have a gun that would actually work. But it was in his backpack, and he couldn't get the zipper with one hand, so he just went back to holding his shotgun with both hands.
Dean snorted slightly. "Hey, I'm trying to protect her from you, do you really think I'm going to hurt her?" He asked, frowning. He followed the other guy with his gun when he went over to the girl and opened his arms like he was offering to hug her. Did this guy think the girl was stupid or something? She clearly didn't trust either of them, why would she hug him? He lowered his shotgun slightly when the guy went over to get some whipped cream. He thought it was a little weird, but didn't really care.
"I'll lower my gun if you lower yours," He said to the other guy, figuring that they had gotten past most of their hostilities by now. His arms were getting sore from holding his shotgun up, but there was no way he was going to lower it while the other guy still had his gun raised and cocked. He chuckled slightly about what the girl said, though he was surprised that she knew about F.E.A.R. He didn't notice her acting like she was hurt.

Alan watched this guy's every movement and said "I have night vision, I see you reaching for what I assume is a gun. I'm not the enemy here you idiot. There are like monsters everywhere, so why are you pointing a gun at me." he then shook his head slightly and sighed. He wondered why the hell he would try to reach for another gun when he had a perfectly good shotgun right there, though he wasn't at all sure that he could kill the man, even if he did shoot him first, but maybe to protect the little girl he could.
He watched the little girl for a few minutes then slowly put his arms down and frowned, he wanted to hug her to help himself feel better too, feeling something other than fear and pain lately. He then pointed his revolver at the guy again, just because he kind of had to have pointed it away from him to offer the hug. He looked at the man and raised an eyebrow, not that you can tell, and said "For all I know you want to kill her, don't harm her and we should both be fine. I just saw a girl that had been stabbed to death, for all I know that was you." the fact you couldn't see his eyes was actually kind of disorienting given how we make 1,800 motions with our eyes and the areas around our eyes, and that makes most of our emotions seem true.
He sat there and ate more cream, then moved his night vision goggles slightly and water, or more accuratly tears fell on the table. He then wiped his eyes and put the goggles back over his eyes and took another big mouthful of cream. He smiled in a forced way at the girl, though he didn't get the reference nor thought that it was in very good taste. He looked at the guy and clicked the hammer so the gun didn't fire, but so it was disarmed, then put it on his belt. He then sighed and said "I'm Alan by the way. Alan Gustavson, you may have heard of me, my family won the largest loto drawing of all time.

Lily shook her head at both of the boys. She figured that the guy was pointing a gun at him because he was pointing a gun at her. But she thought both of them were just being silly now. It's like they were fighting over who was being protective of her, and they thought each other were bad. If anything, they both could be bad for all she knew. At the moment she enjoyed the idea of being protected by someone, but at the moment she wished it was someone other then these 2 guys. Because they seemed to be just arguing. After a while she just ignored them, though she did visibly twitch at the mention of the fact he just saw a girl that had been stabbed to death.
"Will you two stop arguing over protecting me and stop pointing guns at each other?" She snapped out of nowhere, breaking her bit of silence. "Please?" She asked in a nicer tone of voice, and looking like she was sort of asking "please?" with her facial expression too, if you could see it with her hood up. If they didn't want to shut up, she could always just leave them and get away from their arguing. But she would rather stay with them instead of leaving, if they proved to be nice to stay with and they wouldn't argue, or point guns at each other all the time. So far, that seemed like it might be hard to ask of them.
She frowned at Alan, noticing he seemed to be crying. Her crying had mostly stopped, she just mainly sounded plugged now from crying, like how you got after crying a lot. She wiped her own eyes dry, and pulled back her hood since she felt there was no need to wear it anymore. She shook her head. "Nope. I didn't pay attention to the lottery" She said. "My names Lily Kingsley. Nice to meet you" She said, not sure if it was actually nice to meet him or not, since she still wasn't entirely sure she trusted these guys. "How about you?" She said to Dean. "What's your name?" She asked. Of course, being her she said it quietly, since that was just how she was: a quiet speaker. But it was pretty easy to tell she wasn't that shy, just quiet. Another reason to speak quietly was to avoid alerting, say, some creepy alien-type things that might eat them or rip them to shreds. Or both.

"I have more stuff in my backpack then just a gun, man," Dean said in a voice that sounded like that was obvious. "Human can be enemies, I have as much right to not trust you as you do to not trust me." Dean knew that he could kill someone if he had to. He already had. Someone innocent, maybe not. But in self-defense, or in defense of someone else, he knew he could. Without even flinching. That was the part that bothered him, that he could kill someone without regret. I guess you could say that he regretted not regretting it. "I'm pointing a gun at you because you were pointing one at me, simple as that."
Dean glanced at the girl quickly then back at Alan,"I ain't arguing," He said in a kind of joking, defensive way. Then to Alan he pointed out,"I think if I'd of wanted to kill her, I would have. I mean, I was here for long enough before you walked in." He didn't sound like he was trying to argue, just that he was trying to make a point. He twitched at the mention of a little girl who had been stabbed, and sighed. "Why would someone do something like that?" He asked, seeming to ask himself.
After the guy put his gun down, Dean lowered his shotgun and said,"It wouldn't have done anything anyway. It's armed with rock salt," With a crooked smile. He then started looking through cabinets and such for more salt, or something that could be useful. He then looked at Alan and Lily. "Hey Lily, hey, Alan. I'm Dean. Dean Ackless." He kind of carelessly shoved a cabinet closed, and it closed with a bang, which he flinched at. Damn, most of his life learning stealth and trying to find supernatural shiz, and he was still clumsy. "Maybe we should try to find a safe place to hole up for a while, and we can get to know each other better. You're the first two people I've seen in a while that haven't tried to rob or kill me. And no, I haven't heard of you, Alan. I've lived my life on the road, I don't watch a ton of TV or pay attention to that part of newspapers."

Alan tilted his head and said "Get a sudden craving for chocolate or something?" trying to make a joke, but it seemed to fall rather flat, it had no heart behind it because he wasn't really in the mood to joke. He was very glad the night vision goggles on, he was worried that if this guy was a phyco that he might see his hesitation and shoot him, who knows what he might do to the little girl. He flexed his fingers on the hand that held the gun and said "I am pointing this at you because I think you will hurt her, because of the killed little girl. I'm sure if you really are a good person that you understand."
Alan tapped his foot and said "No, we aren't arguing, you just can't trust anyone in these dark days." he shook his head and said "Maybe you wanted to, ug you know, there are sick people in this world. You know what I mean?" he shivered and added "You don't seem like that kind of guy though." he sighed and shuddered at the memory "I have no idea, god this has just brought out the worst in people, god I hate this world. I have to protect this girl."
He kind of laughed as he put his revolver back on his hip and asked "Rock salt? Geez I'm glad you weren't actually threatening the girl. Why salt though?" he smiled slightly and tilted his head in a little girly way and said "Hi Lily, cute name." he smiled and said "Nice to meet you too Dean." he talked quietly too, but more because he sounded scared than him being a quiet person. When Dean hit a cabinet he turned and looked terrified then pulled his revolver and pointed it at the door, though he didn't seemed to annoyed, just cautious. He smiled over at Dean and said "Awwww, it would be like a little family, the kid, the girl, the guy." he pointed at himself when he said 'the girl' but seemed to be joking. He sighed at the next thing he said "Like I said before, this world does bring out the worst in people. I had to shoot someone, not kill them though. I take it you had to too." he seemed like he hated the idea of hurting anyone. He then smiled at Lily and asked "Now can I have that hug?" and put his arms out in a hug way.

Lily decided that to the discussion between Alan and Dean that she would just let them continue talking, because she couldn't think of anything to say to join in the conversation. She couldn't really even think of a response to Alan's joke, and just forced a smile at him.
Lily forced a smile at what Dean said about not arguing, then turned to Alan. "Sadly, that is too true. I don't even know who to trust anymore. I'm not even sure I can trust my own family members anymore" She said with a sigh, frowning and shaking her head. "Well, other then my parents. I trust them still" She said, and her eyes looked a little watery at mentioning her parents. That is if you could tell. There was the possibility of the slight lighting that was shining into the Starbucks reflecting off of her eyes, showing that her eyes were watery. At what Alan said next, she visibly twitched at the very thought of what he was likely implying. Following that, she let out a shudder at the idea. "I hope we don't run into anyone like that" She muttered quietly. She didn't force a smile this time, and actually smiled when Alan said he had to protect her. Sure, she didn't like people being overly protective of her all the time, but right now she pretty much wanted the protection. Wanted some sense of security that was more then just a crowbar and her strength, which even though it wasn't bad, it wasn't great either.
Lily just raised an eyebrow at the fact Dean's shotgun had rock salt in it instead of bullets. That just made practically no sense to her at all. Probably because she didn't really pay any attention to all these legend things, likely because they didn't really interest her. She preferred to read just books, or about certain history of places. Or just hang out in nature, and go on hikes and such. When Alan said she had a cute name, she smiled again, feeling slightly embarrassed that some guy thought her name was cute. But it didn't really bother her, it was just different. "Nice to meet you Dean" She said with a smile to him. As soon as the cabinet banged, she let out a gasp and jumped, at the same time clutching her crowbar tighter. Clearly everyone was rather jumpy. She let out a sigh when she realized it was nothing, and loosened her grip on the crowbar. After she calmed down, she nodded to what Dean said about they should find a place to hole up for now and get to know each other, then at what Alan said she jokingly said, "Hey, I'm not a kid. I'm 13". But it was clear that she didn't actually mind being called a kid, because she knew that honestly she really was still a kid. She wasn't one of those people that got all grumpy because someone called her a kid when she was a teenager. It took her a bit to realize he said 'girl' instead of 'guy' when Alan referred to himself, and she just raised an eyebrow in response. "Luckily I haven't had to, well, beat the crap out of someone with a crowbar, yet. I've been lucky with that so far. Doesn't mean I haven't encountered bad people. I've ran away from a couple people before, luckily ones without guns. And I did smack someone hard in the kneecap with the crowbar once" She said, cringing at the memory of causing someone that much pain. And doing so by hitting them in the kneecap at that. At Alan asking for the hug again, she glanced at Dean, then around the room as if she wasn't sure if she should, just because she was too cautious right now. "I...I guess....But if you try anything, I am sure D-".
Before she could finish her sentence, she was interrupted by a loud, deep rumble that shook the whole building, rattling the windows and rattling the glasses into each other. The rumble didn't stop either, and it sounded an awful lot like a very loud roaring jet engine, or something along those lines. It quickly got louder and louder, as whatever it was got closer and closer.
"Shit" Lily muttered. She wasn't the type to usually swear, but right now she felt the swearing was appropriate, even though it sort of just slipped out without her thinking. "They are back again. That can't be good" She muttered again. The sound of the Space Ship of the invaders had haunted her mind for days after the invasion, and it still did. So she recognized it instantly as the ship that dropped all this crap onto their planet. "What do they want now?" She asked herself more then the others. If you could tell, she clearly looked terrified of why they were back, and she gripped her crowbar tighter again and started backing up into a darker corner then where they first found her. As she backed up, she put her hood on again as if to hide from the invaders in the dark, since she practically disappeared in the dark with her black sweatshirt. She continued to back into the dark corner, and she slowly and quietly got into sitting position against the wall, and she hoped that she was well hidden in the dark. Her breath was slow and quiet, but inside she was as terrified as ever and she wanted them to just leave so she could get some rest. She really needed it. Barely 10 minutes after she had just been chased, this happens.
As she sat down against the wall, she fought hard to fight back the wave of emotions that were hitting her again. It was just becoming too much for her to deal with at her age, and in 1 day. The lack of proper sleep for a week, not really sleeping for a ton of hours, and just barely escaping death was all wearing her down. And now her arm felt like it was throbbing from the pain of the scratch, and that wasn't helping. Again, she put her left hand over the injured spot on her right arm, more to just put pressure on it then anything, since for whatever reason that seemed to keep down the pain. The crowbar she was holding in her right hand, and was holding it tightly, ready to strike out if she had to.

"I don't carry chocolate around with me," Dean said with a grin. "Does sound good though. Almost as good as a cold beer." He watched as Alan flexed his fingers on the hand that held the gun, but didn't twitch. He wasn't sure that this guy had it in him to shoot him, which was both a good thing and a bad thing. It was good because it was nice to see that, even in a time like this, someone could be unwilling to take another person's life. It was bad because that may just get him killed one day. "Don't you think that if I'd of wanted to kill her, I would have killed her before you got here? Also, if I've got a shotgun, why would I have stabbed the girl outside to death?"
He nodded,"Yeah, you can't trust anyone is the exact reason why I'm still pointing a gun at you. You could be the one who wants to hurt her, for all I know," He said it in a way that sounded like he wasn't trying to argue still. "I had time to kill or hurt her if I'd of wanted to." He nodded again,"You don't really seem like the type to hurt a girl, either." He then sighed slightly and shook his head,"Why more people couldn't have held on to their sanity, I don't know," He said with a sigh.
He smiled and said,"Well, in most cultures, Salt is symbol of purity, so it supposedly repels impure and unnatural things, such as ghosts and Demons. I never had the chance to test it out until this started." He wondered if these people would think he was crazy, or if they would just accept that he was a fan of learning about these kind of things. "Nice to meet you both, I just wish it could have been under better circumstances," He said, noticing that they both seemed kind of jumpy when he slammed the cabinet closed. That was good, that meant that there was less of a chance that something could sneak up on them. He just blinked at Alan when he said something about it would be like a little family. "Dude, I would rather an actual chick," He said in a joking, kind of cheesy way. He nodded,"Yeah. Someone tried to leave my brother as bait, to draw off the monsters chasing him. I killed him. I would do anything to protect my little brother," At the end of that sentence, his voice broke slightly and his eyes watered a bit. He seemed like the type that was good at avoiding crying, most of the time. He watched carefully when Lily decided to hug Alan, then jumped when the rumble started. He swung his backpack off and pulled his handgun out, as well as a silver knife. He handed the knife to Lily,"Here, this will work a hell of a lot better then a crowbar," He said. There was a hint of sadness in his voice at the fact that he was giving a 13 year old girl a weapon.
He looked at Lily as she sat down against the wall, then looked around the room as if deciding what to do. He then pulled Lily to her feet gently," We need to get somewhere with less windows, this place is to exposed," He said quietly. He then glances around the room again and slung his backpack over his shoulder again. He put his handgun in the back of his pants and raised his shotgun again,"Follow me," He said quietly, heading towards a back room in the Starbucks.

"Beer, how icky, I like a fine white wine instead, like 10 grand a bottle good." Alan said in a girly braty way, not something you would really expect from a guy who was holding a gun to you. He looked at Lily and said "I am so sorry this had to happen to you, when this is over I will send you and your parents to a nice resort, does that sound nice?" trying to cheer her up a little, because he could see her watery eyes thanks to his night vision goggles. He thought of like rubbing her shoulder or something, but thought better of it, in case she went crazy with her crowbar. He also noticed her look and words of dismay at what he said, which were natural, and he said "If we do find someone like that, they get one warning, no more." and the barrel of his gun started shaking ever so slightly, he was afraid to even kill someone that bad, but was trying to hide it. He shrugged to the man and said "Maybe you wanted to force yourself on her first, for all I know you are that sick of a man. Plus shotguns make noise, if you were outside and smart you would stab someone, not shoot them."
He nodded to what Dean said and said "I like and respect that, I mean usually I take offence to having a gun pointed at me, but when it comes to protecting a little girl I totally understand." he shifted his weight in an annoyed way and said "I have explained a dozen times what I think someone might do in your place." he smiled slightly at what he said and muttered a "Thanks." he sighed slightly and said "I can understand, I'm not crazy but I can understand why people would go crazy in this world."
He just kind of raised his eyebrow at Dean and said "Someone is a spiritual otaku. You know, before this I would have called you something I can't say in front of a kid crazy, but now I don't really think it is that bad. Doing you more favors than my 14 inch guns right now." he smiled at Dean slightly and said "Well if it was a doubt we would be meeting. I mean seriously the one time I'm outside of my bunker is when the world goes to hell, what the Fu- uh fudge man." he glanced at Lily when he said fudge, apparently making sure he only used appropriate language. He put his pistol back after it was apparent that there was no threat. He laughed at Lily, but not in a mean way and said "Well comparatively the kid." he glanced over at Dean and jokingly flipped his hair over one eye and asked "What not girly enough for you?" though he had one hand on his hip in a girl like way it just seemed to be how he stood, not part of his joke. He looked back and forth between them and said "I ordered Private Military contractors to secure my girlfriend by any means necessary, and that means I told them to kill people. That is kinda the only bad thing I did."he had more seen others be cruel to each other than personally did anything like they had. He watched the knife thing without any shock to his face, but a slight sigh escaped his lips.
During the rumbling he was terrified, but managed to not go crazy like shooting things. Though he did pull the riot shield off his back and put it in front with one hand to the side with his pistol in it. He nodded to Deans idea, and said "Good plan." then put his arm with the riot shield on it around Lily to both protect her, and make sure she didn't freak and run off. He rested part of the shield on her back and said "Come on, you will be safe with this over you."
